1 2 3 4 what the hell are we fighting for...

A simple google will tell you that "During the period 2002/03 to 2004/05, two out of five children in London lived below the poverty threshold after housing costs have been met. This amounts to over 600,000 children. Based on this definition, more than half of the children in Inner London lived in poverty."

And what do the youth wing of the next government do?

"As part of the

National Social Action
day in Richmond, kindly being hosted by the Richmond Borough Conservatives, one of the many projects you can visit on the 20th is the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust in Barnes. On arrival you will be treated to a free guided tour of the centre, including a talk about the work and wildlife within the area, and then taken to an area of marshland where we will be helping to carry out essential conservation work to protect the land and the birds and wildlife which inhabit the area.

So if you fancy meeting some endangered ducks and getting to grips with some conservation work at the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust in Barnes - you know where we are. 20th of September. Richmond. National Conservative Future Social Action Day. For more details and regular updates, please sign up to the facebook event page."

This is a fucking joke right? Zac Goldsmith
disgraced himself
and his party recently and we are spending time and money on birds and bees when there are starving kids we could be drawing attention to.

TB is really pissed. This bollocks has to stop.

This might have been a good idea 2 years ago, but not when the economy is such a mess and people are struggling to heat their own houses.

The time could be better spent campaigning, or why not have a social action project that helps people to put lagging in their lofts... topical and the right message.

I have no idea what the student/not breakdown is on these things, but many of those of us paying taxes take the view that we do quite enough "social action" already.

And do what with the kids give them hand outs?
Richard you suggest fitting lagging? first of all if they cant afford lagging themselves who would pay, and surely it requires certain failsafes etc.

Isnt this story even if meant to be amusing actually quite insulting an patronising. You'll find that there are models out there with intelligence and make money unlike students who go to uni cant hack it and drop out.

seems your all over the shop pal... which story is it you are commenting on and what is it you are sweating about?

what it comes down to is whether you are pro-duck or pro-human.

its rare that I will defend social action, I make it rather clear I believe in campaigning and little else (and have no wish to pick up litter) but for once TB you have it wrong.
There is meant to be a lot more on the 20th going ahead aside ducks that will have a far greater impact on the area and perhaps find out what those are before putting it down...

On another note - COME TO GUILDFORD!!!!!!!!! NATIONAL CAMPAIGN DAY. 20TH SEPTEMBER. TARGET SEAT. Please....xxx

It doesn't matter if there is anything else going on when the entire advertising needs of CF are focused on a few bloody ducks who if they lived anywhere else but richmond would probably be in a pancake by now. how are we to know what these other mystical projects are when the entire party drop everything they are doing cause the rich bloke is saving the planet.

yet if kids born on sink estates and into miserable poverty fueled lives were give a bit of bloody attention the benifits would be immense. doubt you'll hear much thanks from the ducks and they sure as hell cant vote. what is the best that will come of this.. a duck will live to quack another day??

we are about to form the next government, we shouldnt be fannying about building goat pens and smoothing feathers.

TB would fully support the social action projects that look at the genuine problems in our society and how we can help those most in need but TB cannot support sucking up to ZG and his barmy army of green warriors as they slowly save the planet one newt at a time.

its bollocks and its a waste of time.

There are many projects going on in Richmond on the 20th. Only one of which will involve ducks or animals. I'll make sure you are kept as far away from the ducks as possible. See you there :) Don't forget to pack the wellingtons - maybe you can go to bear factory and get some there? Or maybe thieve some from Paddington bear?

How about we social action the ducks into becoming pancakes? We could feed them to impoverished kids. God I'm hungry.

Oui. It was. How nice of you to remember. The very esteemed David Harris took great delight in explaining it to everyone. That was good cheesecake... Haha, remember a certain drunken politicians toast to st andrew... went on.... and on..... and on.... and on... and a certain young man, his name escapes me, doing impressions of what it is like to be on the phone with one of the ex chairman of CF. Happy days you old bear!
