I think that if there are genuine grievances then the unions are justified to have their voices heard. But to cause problems and bully workers to strike simply to promote a political agenda is completely inappropriate - promoters of such actions should never be tolerated.

I agree with WCT. In a lot of organisations its the vocal minority, often with slightly more extreme views, that take control and ruin it for everyone else.

Suppose this is the dilemna facing Cameron WCT.

He can't idealogically agree with the unions on a huge amount of policy but he could still do with a few union members votes. I think he's doing the right thing by seeming to be closer to the unions whilst at the same time not really offering them anything concrete from a future Tory government. It's very clever.

Thankfully it looks like Cammy et al are appealing to the memmbership more directly than to the leadership, which helps, as the rank-and-file unionist is far more rational and reasonable than Crow et al.
