Brown had to pay Martin off, to avoid getting Martin's dagger in his back.
This is the cherry on the cake, is it not? Blair and Brown ensure that the system putrefies by getting rid of Filkin and then Major General Peterkin, then they put the twat in the Lords with a handsome £1.4 million pension! The man can barely speak, or think for himself.
Of what possible use will he be in the Lords?
