Hannan Smeared Again

"Barack Obama has an exotic background, and it would be odd if some people weren’t unsettled by it. During the campaign, he made a virtue of his unusual upbringing. He was at once from the middle of the country (Kansas) and from its remotest edge (Hawaii). He was both black and white. He was a Protestant brought up among Muslims. He seemed to have family on every continent. Like St Paul, he made a virtue of being all things to all men. On one level, the strategy worked brilliantly. But it could hardly fail to leave a chunk of people feeling that Obama wasn’t exactly a regular guy."

Where in that quote does Daniel Hannan

"excuse racism"
? He displays an understanding of American politics and culture that goes far beyond the likes of increasingly idiotic
Sunny Hundal
, the normally level headed
Alex Smith
and of course smear
text book
fan
Tom Watson
. They have jumped on this as a pathetic attempt to drag Hannan through the mud, again. For telling the truth, again. It's always a sign that a story has no legs when the only person the lefties can find to give a quote is the attention-whore Parmjit Dhanda.

Give up mate, base attacks and playing the race-card isn't going to save your seat.

Interesting. Sounds like a perfectly reasonable thing to say to me (the Hannan quote I mean, not the smears).

As for the smears - well, smears result from (sometimes) a base fear that the person you are smearing is right and you have to try and knock them down a peg or too. Dan Hannan is a very intelligent man, good with words - exactly what Labour don't want the Tories to have...that explains everything.

James McIntyre is at it too on the NS. The comments pretty much tear his argument to shreds and expose him for the dog-whistling extremist that he is. Not sure why, but he disliked my comment so much it was moderated off.

Some people just can't take it, eh?

I guess the Mirror is relying on its moronic sheep-like readers not reading the text in full.

Hannan has chosen his words very carefully, throughout.

The left uses labels to denigrate - "right-wing", "extremist", "racist", etc.

We should do the same to them, using repetition to hammer home our own message to voters. We should never miss an opportunity to label lefties and the Labour Party as:

extremist
communist
stalinist
marxist
Pol Pot apologists
collectivist
Borg

...

A prefix to each reference to the dolts might wake people up a bit.

Dan Hannan is a bit "exotic" too - he's some sort of Peruvian, isn't he?

The lefty press and blogs spent a year masturbating over his "exotic background" and when Hannan mentions it he's a super evil racist?

How do these people manage to dress themselves in the morning?

This month's 'Tactic of the Month' by the American left is to characterize anyone, anywhere who dare question the Dear Leader as a 'racist'.

Jimmy Carter is leading the charge, and Himself and the White House, whilst not endorsing his views, are not strenuously working to distance themselves from his FormerPresidential idiocy.

Hannan, as always, is spot on. I just wish we could lease him for eight years. I have a job in mind for the man...

Great work as always, TB! It's comforting to have a couple of knowledgeable friends back across the pond.

It just makes him sound like a Lib Dem to me.

I do not think any one need pay the least regard to these people on the left making any accusations of racism.

Their complaints are too loud and hysterical. I do not think they are sincere.

I believe that they are used as political weapons. As with everything from the left, it is a pose.

I have had enough of being lectured by the left on attitudes to homosexuality, equality, diversity and racism.

I have been burnt off. I am no longer listening. I NO LONGER CARE what they say and I will do my own thing.

So far as I am concerned, such matters are for my conscience and I will certainly not be dictated to on morality by any supporter of this scum Mafia Government.
