Pickles Briefing

Well it's pretty clear who has been briefing Peter Oborne. It's almost verbatim.

Pickles needs to go back to the drawing board, he and his party are not going to win Pendle even though he thinks they can win it.

Pendle will be won by the Lib Dems!

Haha!

Eh?

The Tories did a lot worse in 1945 than in 2005.

They also had fewer than 200 MPs numerous times in the party's history - including in 1945.

TB: Eric says that the Labour party have an inbuilt majority owing to the way in which the boundaries are drawn. Can you please explain this to a dullard like me? How can the boundary commission have done that? Surely no party should have 'an inbuilt majority' at any time.

"The Boundary Commission for England is an advisory Non-Departmental Public Body funded by the Ministry of Justice. The Commission is required by the Parliamentary Constituencies Act 1986 (as amended) to keep the parliamentary constituencies in England under continuous review and periodically, every 8 to 12 years, to conduct a general review of all constituencies in England at the same time and submit to the Secretary of State a report showing the constituencies they recommend.

Chairman: The Speaker of the House of Commons - at the last report, that would have been the discredited and deposed Michael Martin
Deputy Chairman: The Hon. Mr Justice Sales"

That's how.
