Loose Lips Sink Ships

Everyone's favourite Chief Whip Nick Brown is currently on a train into Kings Cross. A travelling source gets in touch to inform the Bear:

"Although he thinks he's being guarded on the mobile - I know what he is talking about. The essence is that the plot rumours are real and he is holding meetings tomorrow to discuss things.
Greg Pope
was mentioned and the feelings within the PLP and 'worries', two camps, theose who will 'soldier on and those who want him out"
After today's performance on Marr is there any Labour MP who can honestly say Gordon is the best they have?

Rather interesting and a dangerous game. Changing leaders at the 11th Hour could be as damaging or even more damaging then allowing Brown to take Labour into the election.

It'll be interesting to see if this gets whipped into another media storm.

I agree with Hythlodæus, Labour have left it too late to change now.

A large proportion of the electorate are itching for the chance to vote Brown out, and changing leaders this close to an election will, I suspect, leave a majority feeling cheated.

It will also be seen for what it is; cynical and contemptuous. Voters never like being taken for granted and revenge will probably be taken out on Labour anyway.

Labour is stuck with Brown whether they like or not.

Damned if they do and damned if they don't....Suicidal methinks! Whatever happens we should benefit. Well done for highlighting this, Mr Bear!

Let there be dissent, glorious dissent within the PLP.

Stir it up, let slip the dogs of war and leave Gorgon fighting an election battle on two fronts.

Having to fight the backstabbers internally will make sure that Gorgon often has his one eye off the Election-winning ball.
