Quote of the Day

"I see Paul Staines/Guido is offering a characteristically po-faced and overblown take on all this. Remarkable how someone who runs what claims to be a satirical blog can be so humourless. No wonder so many people are reading Tory Bear instead."

-Telegraph hack
James Kirkup
responding to
Guido's
 reaction to Parliament Spy disappearing.

Dear oh dear! One-dimensional thinking by Kirkup…

We aren't reading the excellent Tory Bear *instead of* Guido — it's in addition!

Just because the MSM columnists and bloggers haven't all yet cottoned onto the way modern media operate, and the clientêle's practices, doesn't mean their perceptions can be treated as valid.

As with most things in life, no one source is ideal in isolation: it is the ability to flit from one to another at will that still seems to confound the traditional media outlets and their hacks.

That's hilarious! He added that last line in as a further edit, because when I read it earlier, it just said:

"I see Paul Staines/Guido is offering a characteristically po-faced and overblown take on all this. Remarkable how someone who runs what claims to be a satirical blog can be so humourless."

What a naughty bitch* Kirkup is. Trying to drive a wedge between Guido and the Bear.

*Sorry TB, I feel this term is appropriate in this context. Sorry Kirkup if you think that is too po-faced.

I dont think he is numerate... Look at the difference between Guido's stat porn and other political commentators... Like him or not, guido has the traffic

I must admit to finding them both tedious now, but he does have a point :-)

I think TB has a far wider readership than even Kockup imagines.

Ah, bless. I'd never heard of the chap until the other day and couldn't be bothered to find out.

The BIG QUESTION IS 'When is Guido going to do a 'Simon Cowell' and install Tory Bear as full time editor of Order-Order, so that Paul can devote himself more fully to other projects, such as sex, drugs and rock'n'roll ??'

And will Emily Nomates be the Guido answer to Cheryl Cole or Ellen Degeneres ?
