Dead Man Walking

Cam 6 Clegg 5 Brown 2
TB is very busy after it taking hours to get to the office this morning, but that PMQs couldn't pass without a quick comment. Dave was back to form. Splitting the questions was a good move - thumped Brown, leaving him spluttering and cornered with those last ones. The cabinet looked extremely uncomfortable while Dave pounded them again and again. The Downing Street staff lines about airbrushing and posters could have been funny the first time if it had been delivered well. However it flopped the first time and thus Brown looked absurd pounding it again and again. As ever Brown refused to answer any of the questions and resorted to his tired stale lines and statistics.

Clegg used his questions on Iraq well, it was a fair point that the country needs to have a chance to judge Brown for his writing the cheques for the war but the day was definitely Daves. Gordon is here to stay now and there is no risk of another coup. Time for the fun and games to really begin.

Popcorn anyone?

Hurrah!

I'd forgotten that it's now open season; I've been talking to fellow Tories for so long about how we had to make sure we kept him in place, I'd forgotten what David Cameron could do once Brown was stuck there.

Ah, anonymous is Adam Boulton:

From Sky:

Sky's political editor Adam Boulton described it as a "ragged, messy and pointless PMQs".

"But Gordon Brown gave David Cameron a bit of a mauling - and for once had the (slightly) better jokes."

Reality is not Labour's strong suit, is it?

Much as I'd like to agree, I think the 2 for Brown is a bit harsh. I actually think he held his own quite well and if anybody came out on top it Nick Clegg. He certainly had the best questions.

Many thought Brown bested DC.

many quite the opposite.. either way it was teh most entertaining in a long time. thought brown looked like a mong going on those rubbish jokes so much.

dave's lines hurt.. you just had to look at harman's eyes.

Nonsense. Tepid PMQs, last week was better. And I agree, Brown should stop relying on facts and just make things up.

Thanks Tory Bear, I thought it was just me that considered DC to have easily won PMQ's today. And as for the commentartiat thinking Clegg was the winner. No, a thousand times no. Who cares whether Brown attends the Iraq Inquiry before the election. So last year, and only traction inside the Westminster village.

Keep up the good work Tory Bear.

It was actually painful to watch Brown floundering and trying to fall back on the quick witted humour he clearly lacks. Only really issue is the lowering of expectations, so that by the time the election comes around if Gordon does anything which isn't a total disaster (unlikely I know) then it will be seen as an achievement.

The Chilcot inquiry thing is gaining ground - even on the Guardian website where they have a poll..

Well worth a look, to bump up the numbers to '90% of Guardian readers' wanting him to appear before the election ?

Sounds unlikely ? You think he could never be that stupid ? Wait until you see Tony Blair 'blamestorming' all over him and then see his temper rise and the need for revenge trumps the risks which such an encounter, and the accusation of flip-flopping, could cause.

Mark my words, he will be heading to the Queen Elizabeth the Second Conference Centre to sing like a canary before the election before getting himself up to his neck in the brown stuff..

AS long as Cameron and the Tories realise and learn that Labour, none of them, intend to play it nice and they are playing into their hands if they do, as the idiots have been.

If they took more notice of what the people think, their voters and the people that actually pit them there, instead of listening to the crap spouted by the Westminster effete elite, then they would be a clear and steady 20 points ahead in the polls.

Enough of platitudes and apologies for every piece of crap thrown at them by Labour; fight back and fight back hard on Labours terms. Or risk losing lots of votes to the smaller parties.

According to Guido it was Browns own team who doctored Cameron look so "smooth".

A few suggestions that the tories could do to the labour faces......

What about a small square moustache on Ed Bollocks. Now who would that remind me of???

Rex: he'd have a match with bob ainsworth. Maybe some of the ladies could sport one too, just to get into the spirit of things or should they have the stockings and suspenders as in 'Allo 'Allo! - or are they just for the men!
